Psyonix Releases Surprise DLC With New McLaren 570S

I never thought I'd see the day when a McLaren 570S would be driving around in Rocket League.

But sure enough, last night at The Game Awards 2018, Psyonix decided to surprise us with a brand new DLC and access to a brand new car, the McLaren 570S.

It's fully modeled after the real car and looks just as sexy as the real thing.

Take a look at the trailer down below:

Whether it has the same specs, that's a different question.

In real life, the McLaren 570S is packing 562 hp through a 3.8L V8 and does 0-60 in 2.7 seconds.

Fast right?

The Rocket League version, not so much.

Since it's modeled after the real thing I think it's safe to assume it's just as powerful and has the same engine.

Of course, it will be the same speed as other cars, but hey, it's nice to imagine that it's faster than all the others.

Now, in terms of the hitbox, the car is identical to the Dominus, one of the most popular cars and used by many pros.

Because of this, it will be interesting to see if some of the pros who normally use Dominus will opt for the nicer and more stylish McLaren 570S.

Now, what about customization?

Well, it's not so great.

The car looks amazing as it is, and understandably because it is representing another brand, Psyonix has limited the amount of customization on this car.

You will be able to change the color, boost, and goal explosions.

Other than that, customization is limited to the special McLaren items that come with the car.

That means you cannot change the wheels, decals, paint type, toppers, or engine sound.

I understand why they would limit customization but it's really unfortunate you can't change the wheels.

That's not to say the wheels it comes with aren't great because they do suite the car very well, but the wheels are a dark gray and I feel the car would look much better with some fully black wheels.

Regardless, I'll still definitely be buying the car since I love McLarens and think it looks amazing.

Let me know your thoughts on the car down in the comment section!
